Information we collect
Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce collects, uses and manages certain personal information in order to carry out our activities and to implement various events and campaigns relevant to our members. We endeavour to collect and use this information only where it is necessary for the purposes of our activities. Information collected includes member business and employee contact details and in some instances information about our members' businesses.

Use and disclosure
Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce may use the information we hold about people to send them our publications, other information we think may interest them, or invitations to our events. However, we will not do so if they have told us that they do not want to receive such communications. Apart from that, we will only use the information we collect to provide the services for the benefit of our members. We will not disclose information about a member unless we have permission, or are under a legal obligation, to do so.
We will disclose information we collect, in relation to specific matters, only when it is necessary to do so to provide our services or to implement our various events and campaigns. Such disclosure will only occur where it is in accordance with our member's permission and is lawful and ethical.

Others who may have access to information
Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce uses external service providers from time to time who are contracted to perform certain tasks to support our activities. For example, we use contractors to distribute some of our publications, and to maintain and develop our website. These service providers may have access to some of the personal information we collect. These contractors are bound by obligations of confidentiality and may only access information to the extent necessary to provide the services we require.

Privacy is your choice
When a member joins Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce, by default, certain details of their organisation, including the personal contact details of certain employees, are listed on our website. However, a member may choose not to display this information.

Security
Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce takes appropriate steps in order to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure. Whilst we take all reasonable steps to protect and respect our members' personal privacy, we do not take responsibility for unauthorised access of personal information that we hold. User identifiers and passwords limit access to our computer systems and our contractors and volunteers are subject to strict obligations of confidentiality.

Website and cookies
Our website does use cookies but we do not track details of visits to our site such as the visitor's server address, domain name and browser type, the date and time of the visit, the information downloaded, and links from other sites followed to get to our site.
Any information a person chooses to submit to us (eg by subscribing to our e-newsletter or sending us an email) will be treated in accordance with this privacy statement.

Access rights
People can request access to the information we hold about them. There are some limitations upon this right to access, such as where we owe a duty of confidentiality to another party.

Upon receipt of fully completed application form and membership fees each business member is listed in the database unless instructed otherwise. Inclusion in the Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce membership database does not represent an endorsement of the listed business or any of the business' products or services.
