Georgia Draws A House is the artist name of local illustrator, Georgia Norton Lodge. If you’re familiar with Georgia, you may have had your house drawn by her, seen her books at local shops, stumbled upon one of her adorable house-on-a-house murals or attended one of her workshops.
We’ve been lucky to collaborate with Georgia on the front cover of this edition.
Georgia Draws A House started in 2014, as a teeny-tiny-hobby business out of her mum’s front room. On the first of each month, people jump on her website, pop their address in, and Georgia draws their house in return. Think Christmas presents, Mother’s Day or ‘I just bought my first home’ — it’s a celebration of home, family, and love in a cute hand-drawn way. These drawings are known to sell out within five minutes and Georgia now has a beautiful studio and three staff members to keep it all running smoothly.
Beyond the fineline and paper, Georgia has hosted workshops for the likes of Google and Apple, exhibited at The Museum of Sydney, created the hilarious four-part kids’ book series, Elizabella, with her sister Zoe Norton Lodge, spoken at multiple events such as Sydney Writers Festival and she’s released the popular Our Inner West Colouring Book.
