Initially formed for a one-off fundraising gig at Birchgrove Public School six years ago, as the dads had kids at the school. The Grateful Dads have now gone on to play nearly 100 more shows since, and have built up a passionate fan base.
Rocking through the classics in their unique, turbo-charged and hugely infectious style, The Grateful Dads create a brilliant party atmosphere wherever they play. People come to watch the crowd as much as to enjoy the music, as it can get pretty raucous!
Charismatic, funny and seriously committed to raising the roof, the combined talents of these five Balmainiacs take rock’n’roll standards to a whole new level. Every song is given the‘Dad-Ass Rock’n’Roll’ treatment and all come out better for it.
Simon (singer), Mark (guitarist), Jack (bassist), James (keyboards) and Rheece (drums) are five local dads who rediscovered theircollective rock’n’roll mojo as nappy changing receded into the mists of memory.
The Beatles, The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Powderfinger, Tay-Tay (yep) and many more get Dadded-up to whip the crowd into a frenzy and transform localpubs into heaving mosh pits.
Regularly performing at The Bald Rock, Gladstone Park Bowlo, The Garry Owen and other inner west venues, they’re also picking up corporate gigs in the city and as their infamy spreads. Do yourself a favour, go and see The Grateful Dads live – you won’t regret it!
